Culture of Excellence

Some pointers for sharing
  • Being the BEST is not an option
  • Explore own strength and potential
  • Seize opportunities and sense the need for change
  • Transform own life to adapt to one's best
  • Always believe in yourself
  • Nurture a positive attitude
  • Core attitudes of excellence - Integrity, Innovation, Industry, Inspiration
  • WHO I am is more important than WHAT I am
  • Each one of us is unique - like a tool (eg, hammer can never be a saw)
  • To succeed, we must try, again and again, not give up, be patient and keep pushing
  • Excellence is not a leap but a STEP

You must be single minded. Drive the one thing which you have decided.
~ George S. Patton Jr

The story of Ilana Yahav was shared during the workshop. She is a world renowned sand animation artist. Using only her fingers, Ilana draws with sand on a glass table.

She did not become a successful artist just overnight. She was told that her art would not sell as it's too common before graduating from art school. However, she seized the opportunity upon stumbling on a man performing artwork on the beach using sand. She learnt and grow with him for years and finally, her diligence and effort is what we can see today. View a video of her work in youtube and you will be amazed at her creativity.

All our dreams can come true - if we have the courage to pursue them
~ Walt Disney
