Happy Birthday to ME!
Two hard boiled eggs for me... it's my birthday today according to the Chinese calendar, the 11th day of the 2nd month of the year.
My ma called yesterday to remind me and asked me to boil 2 eggs for myself. My grandaunt's birthday is also today.
Eating hard boil eggs and cracking the shell before that has been the tradition ever since. It symbolises the start of a new year and cracking the shell means breaking away all misfortune.
